Top Canadian Universities

Maclean’s Canadian university rankings have been the benchmark for Canadian university listings for 19 years.

The top ranked universities in 2009 were:

1. Simon Fraser University (BC)
2. University of Victoria (BC)
3. University of Waterloo (Ontario)
4. University of Guelph (Ontario)
5. Memorial University of Newfoundland
6. University of New Brunswick
7. Carleton University (Ontario)
8. University of Windsor (Ontario)
9. University of Regina (Saskatchewan) / York University (Ontario) – tie
10. Concordia University (Quebec)

There was very little difference from the previous year’s ranking, when Simon Fraser University and University of Victoria tied for first place, Memorial University of Newfoundland and University of New Brunswick tied for fifth, but all others held their positions.

The Maclean’s Guide to Canadian Universities is published annually in March. It will be interesting to see which schools are top ranked in the 20^th edition.
