Rising unemployment

June’s job gains are a welcome shift after months of weak data, with +83,000 positions added and unemployment dipping to 6.9%. However, much of the growth stemmed from part-time roles, and long‑term unemployment remains elevated. While this offers short-term relief, the recovery is still fragile and uneven across sectors.
