CPC Member Spotlight: Monica Gonzalez
Monica Gonzalez was born in Santiago, Chile, and proudly adopted Canada as her home in the early 1990s.
She is an experienced Office Administrator and Legal Support Professional with over two decades of dedicated service in immigration-focused practices, law offices, and community legal clinics. Monica brings a strong background in client services, file and case management, legal documentation, and real estate and immigration procedures.
Throughout her career, Monica has managed high-volume legal workloads with exceptional accuracy and autonomy—supporting immigration applications with a 95–98% success rate, completing 50+ client intakes weekly, coordinating real estate closings, and providing administrative support across diverse areas of law, including family law, landlord-tenant matters, corrections, and poverty law. She is skilled in legal software such as PC Law, Unity, Teraview, DivorceMate, and a wide range of digital tools.
In her current role as an Employment Advisor with Keys Employment Services, Monica assists newcomers, vulnerable populations, and individuals with disabilities in reaching their employment goals. She helps clients with job-readiness strategies, labour-market navigation, and individualized plans leading to successful outcomes. She also provides culturally informed support to Spanish-speaking newcomers, helping them understand credentials, opportunities, and expectations within the Ontario labour market.
An accredited OCCI Community Interpreter, Monica is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and conversational in French and Italian. She is trained in both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, with a strong commitment to accuracy, impartiality, and clear communication.
Monica holds diplomas from St. Lawrence College (Law Clerk), Seneca College (Language Interpreter Training), and George Brown College (Legal Secretary). She continues to pursue professional development in immigration law, refugee protection, poverty law, and legal administrative procedures.
