Eman Ismail-Elmasri is a highly accomplished professional, boasting certifications as a Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP), Certified Career Strategist (CCS), and Certified Employment Strategist (CES). With an impressive track record spanning over 15 years in newcomer settlement and inclusion work, Eman is a dedicated advocate for the success and integration of newcomers. Her firm belief in community collaboration has resulted in successful partnerships that have positively impacted the lives of thousands of immigrants and refugees across Canada. Eman has demonstrated a proven ability to create and leverage opportunities that better serve communities and key stakeholders. Notably, she played a lead role in developing two highly sought-after programs: the WorkLink and Skilled Trades initiatives. These programs have become instrumental in supporting newcomers and have received widespread acclaim from both newcomers and community partners. Through her career advocacy, Eman has achieved recognition for internationally-trained skilled trade newcomers, collaborating with the Ministry of Skilled Trades Ontario and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development. Her efforts have streamlined processes, enabling newcomers in the skilled trades sector to obtain certification in less than six months, a significant reduction from the typical four-year timeline. Currently, Eman serves as the Manager of Newcomer Pathways into Skilled Trades Pilot Project at JVS Toronto. In this capacity, she continues her commitment to creating pathways for skilled tradespeople. Her dedication to recognizing global experience and engaging employers has resulted in reaching new heights within the Skilled Trades program. As the current manager of this pilot project, Eman plays a crucial role in shaping the future of skilled trades integration for newcomers, ensuring they receive the support and recognition they deserve in their pursuit of meaningful careers in Canada.
