CPC Member Spotlight: Marian Bernard
A quick visit to Marian Bernard’s Facebook page offers a glimpse of her vibrant personality. She describes herself as Canada’s only while-you-wait résumé writer, a Zumba fan, an oldies music geek, a dance diva, and, above all, human mama to her adorable dog Oreo. That same energy carries into her work with job seekers.
Marian has been supporting clients since 1985. She has helped people from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) to as far away as New Zealand. Marian focuses on shortening job searches by writing résumés and LinkedIn profiles, coaching clients to succeed in interviews, and teaching them how to navigate the hidden job market.
Marian’s passion for career development has grown through the many in-person and virtual presentations she has developed and delivered over the years. She takes pride in helping job seekers shift their thinking from “how things were done back in the day” to understanding what inspires a hiring decision-maker to say “yes” in today’s labour market. Facilitating that transformation is what keeps Marian motivated, and it is why she hopes to never retire.
Within Career Professionals of Canada, Marian is an active volunteer who brings her energy and expertise to several areas of the association. She currently supports the Communications Team and the Events Team. Previously, she has served as a CPC Ambassador and a member of the Professional Development Team. She has also contributed as a six-time résumé evaluator at the National Job Fair and Training Expo in Toronto. Marian’s long-standing dedication has earned her CPC Awards of Excellence in 2019, 2023, and 2025, along with numerous honourable mentions.
Through her successful practise, Marian continues to bring expertise, enthusiasm, and heart to every client she supports.
