Zoom Tele-Networking Conference Calls
What is Tele-Networking?
CPC tele-networking sessions are facilitated online conference call discussions between members of Career Professionals of Canada. If you have a computer or phone, you have everything that you need to join the session.
As a member of Career Professionals of Canada, you are invited to join your colleagues in openly discussing specific career-related topics in a round-table format – asking questions and sharing ideas.
Each conference call is a networking and brainstorming session built around one key question. The topic we select is related to résumé, interview, employment, career, or business strategy.
Tele-networking sessions for CPC members are offered the first Wednesday of the month, from 1:00pm–2:00pm EST. These events are free, but you’re encouraged to register early to reserve your spot. Note: If you attend the session via telephone, depending on your location, long distance charges may apply.
In mid-2019, CPC will be introducing a new and exciting way to participate in tele-networking sessions. Beginning with our August 2019 event, we will be using Zoom Meetings. Zoom is a video conferencing application that provides high-quality video and audio. You can access a Zoom video conference using the camera and audio capabilities of your desktop computer or mobile device, such as a phone or tablet. It’s a fun and interactive way to see and engage with other participants.
It’s easy to join a Zoom video conference meeting. After you’ve registered for the tele-networking session, you’ll receive an email confirmation containing the meeting details. Joining the Zoom meeting is as simple as clicking on the link provided in the confirmation-of-registration note. Once the meeting starts, you’ll have access to a toolbar at the bottom of your screen that provides a variety of features such as muting your audio, starting or stopping your video, and conducting online chats with other session participants.
Of course, the option remains to participate in tele-networking sessions via regular conference call, without using video. The choice is yours!
Sessions are recorded and the recording will be posted on CPC’s member site so you can continue discussing and sharing resources on the topic.
