The Future of CPC
By Cathy Milton.
The future of work is changing and so are we! 2020 is just around the corner and we’ve got your back.
As a member of Canada’s only national career development association, you will have certainly noticed that Career Professionals of Canada is interested in – and excited about – the opportunities created by the future world of work. In fact, it’s become a recurring theme.
Excitement about the changing landscape of work motived us to look internally and launch an initiative to transform Career Professionals of Canada. The goal of the initiative is to provide you with the most up-to-date resources and tools so that you – and your clients – can prepare to meet the challenges of the future.
We’re updating our programs, certifications, courses, books, and eGuides with the latest ideas, concepts, and developments in our profession. Specifically, here’s what you can expect to see from your national career development association in 2020:
A Fresh, New Look
CPC will roll out a brand-new look and feel to our three websites.
CareerProCanada.ca – the association’s main website, available to the public
CareerProCourse.ca – the website for all of CPC’s very popular courses
CareerProCanada.org – the members-only website
Our re-branding is intended to authentically reflect who we are: Canadian, friendly, human, and real!
Updated CPC Courses
In 2020, courses will be updated and overhauled to become shorter. Each of the study eGuides associated with CPC’s certification programs will be fully updated, too.
Among the results gathered recently in The Future of CPC Survey, many members commented on the positive benefits they’ve enjoyed as “graduates” of CPC’s courses. They reported:
- Feeling more knowledgeable and having greater confidence in the work they do with clients.
- Growth in the number of clients they are able to attract.
- Building their personal networks and developing new friendships through interactions with fellow students.
- Feeling proud to display their well-earned professional credentials on their websites, business cards, LinkedIn profiles, and on office walls.
New Certification eGuides for all Certified Practitioners
CPC’s Certifications are professional credentials, designating the following titles to qualified practitioners who support the Canadian labour market:
- Certified Resume Strategist (CRS)
- Certified Interview Strategist (CIS)
- Certified Employment Strategist (CES)
- Certified Career Strategist (CCS)
Each of the four certification programs includes a comprehensive study eGuide and, as part of the The Future of CPC, these eGuides are being updated with current and future-focused information. Members who have already attained certification will receive a copy of the updated eGuide, absolutely free!
New Books Updated for 2020: Best Canadian Résumés and Best Canadian Cover Letters
Back by popular demand, the highly-anticipated new editions of Best Canadian Résumés and Best Canadian Cover Letters will be available in 2020. Both books are being updated to include new leading-edge, strategically-designed documents and current insights about how to achieve success in the job search process.
