Humber’s School of Applied Technology prepares graduates to enter the design, building & construction, manufacturing, engineering and IT sectors. Reporting to the Manager, Work Placement Services, the Employer Engagement /Placement Advisor plays a key role in student employment success. Given a portfolio of programs, this individual will promote programs to industry, develop job postings, and refer candidates to prospective employers. The Advisor will facilitate job search preparation workshops, provide feedback to students on their resumes and interview skills, and support them through the job search process. The incumbent will work as part of a collaborative team approach to placement, and contribute to career events, build/maintain relationships with employers, associations and other industry partners, and, maintain a database of contacts.


The successful candidate will possess an undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Engineering or ITS, along with a minimum 3 years’ experience in staffing/recruitment, coop placement, human resources or marketing, and, developing/building client relationships. S/he is a learner, and a well-organized, results-oriented individual with strong communication and computer skills (MS Office, CMS/CRM databases). The ideal candidate must be able to deliver workshops, engage and support a diverse student population, and cultivate positive relationships with others. A background or interest in design/engineering/manufacturing /IT, along with current knowledge of relevant job markets, would be a distinct advantage
