Passing the Baton: A New Chapter Begins for CPC
Dear Members and Friends of Career Professionals of Canada,
In a few days, I step aside from my role as your executive director, but I do so knowing that the spirit of CPC is stronger than ever. I will continue to serve as the chair of the board of directors, ensuring continuity and providing guidance to the organization.
As I sit down to write my final CPC news feed post, a mixture of emotions wells up within me. With a heart both heavy and hopeful, I address this message to all of you, the incredible members of CPC. My journey with this extraordinary organization has been a privilege, and one that has enriched my life in countless ways.
Throughout my time as executive director of CPC, we’ve traversed an incredible path together. We’ve celebrated successes, navigated challenges, and, most importantly, forged meaningful connections. The essence of CPC lies in our shared commitment to purposeful kindness, inclusivity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in career development.
The culture of support, collaboration, and engagement that we’ve cultivated together will continue to flourish under the capable leadership of our incoming executive director, Christine (Chris) Ball. Chris’ arrival is a gift to CPC, one that promises new beginnings and boundless possibilities. With her wealth of experience in non-profit leadership, marketing, and communications, Chris is primed to lead us toward a future marked by growth and innovation. Her commitment to fostering strong relationships, building bridges with key stakeholders, and providing visionary leadership aligns perfectly with our mission.
Chris will oversee CPC’s strategic development, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of our field by utilizing industry knowledge and best practices. She will manage our organization’s operations with dedication, overseeing financial management, marketing and communications, member and volunteer development, fund development, technology, and much more.
Chris will also serve as the guiding force for our board, providing expert advice and guidance on matters crucial to CPC’s success. Her role as an ambassador for our association and the career development profession in Canada will ensure that our voice continues to be heard and respected.
As I transition into a new phase of my life, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Your unwavering support, dedication, and kindness have made my journey as executive director an unforgettable one. The friendships we’ve built are treasures that I will cherish always.
I invite you to extend a warm welcome to Chris Ball. I know you will offer the same support and friendship to her as you always gave to me. Working together, under her leadership, CPC will reach new heights, and our shared mission to advance career development will thrive.
The future is bright for CPC, and I am excited to watch as it unfolds. Our shared culture of purposeful kindness will continue to thrive and guide the path forward , and the impact we make on the world of career development will endure.
Thank you for being such a significant part of this incredible journey. I look forward to witnessing all that CPC achieves under Chris’ guidance.
With heartfelt appreciation, always your number one fan,
Sharon
