The Student Life Centre (SLC) is one expression of Brescia’s commitment to our students. The Student Life Team works collaboratively to provide a broad framework of student engagement programs, services, and initiatives that support and enhance all facets of the student experience at Brescia, particularly: orientation & transition, career development & education, mental health & wellbeing, experiential learning, and leadership & involvement. Student Life functions best and is most enriching when the work is collaborative and integrated: coordinating all of our partners, working across disciplines, and encouraging multifaceted approaches and expertise.

Reporting to the Manager, Student Life and working with the team in the Student Life Centre, this position is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives dedicated to supporting a culture of learning, development, service, and engagement for students at Brescia. Key responsibilities will include planning, developing, implementing, and assessing initiatives designed to bridge students’ curricular and co-curricular experiences at Brescia. Initiatives include: Career Advising, Career Development programs and resources (i.e., Professional Mentoring Program, Career Peers, Career Symposium), Experiential Learning (MOS Internship, curricular Community-Engaged Learning), Student Communications (marketing, promotions, social media). Supporting initiatives may include: GirlsLEAD supervision, First Year Experience support (Orientations Soph Peer Mentor Program), Annual Student Leader Recognition Event, Co-Curricular Record, or other student life services such as staffing support in Brescia’s integrated student services office, ‘The Hive’.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum three years relevant experience in Student Affairs, in a student development or student success role. A master’s degree in Education, Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or Career Development Practitioner certification is an asset. We seek a strong collaborator who is highly motivated, creative with outstanding critical thinking, and can work independently with the ability to plan ahead. The ability to establish own priorities in strategic alignment with Centre’s priorities, while meeting timelines efficiently, is essential. The skill to effectively adapt and respond to complex and changing needs in cooperation with a broad array of stakeholders, within and outside Brescia, is crucial. Some evening and weekend work is required.

1 Temporary Full-time – March 2017 to March 2018; Level 6: $49,631 – $54,245 – $58,804
1 Permanent Full-time – May 2017; Level 6: $50,525 – $55,231 – $59,863
