Career Professionals of Canada is committed to setting the standard for excellence in our field. Recognizing outstanding individuals in our profession is one of our most important activities. Active Members of Career Professionals of Canada are eligible to strive for our prestigious Awards of Excellence in the following categories:

Outstanding Career Leader

This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of the Canadian career field as a prominent leader within the profession. The nominee must be an active CPC member. The nomination can be submitted by a non-member, another CPC member, or the nominee him/herself.

Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission. The person completing the nomination form must submit a 500-word statement outlining the reason for nominating the CPC member along with associated supporting material. Consider including additional supporting documents (maximum 5 pages). This may include the nominee’s resume, endorsements/testimonials, and/or hyperlinks to websites and other publications supporting the nomination. The 500-word statement and all supporting material should be submitted in one .pdf file.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has made an exceptional and profound impact on the Canadian career field in a prominent leadership role.
  • Has issued a noteworthy paper or publication, instituted a significant innovation, was instrumental in pioneering a new strategy or approach, and/or has delivered tangible and documented volunteer, public service, humanitarian, or charitable efforts that have significantly impacted the field.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution in a 500-word statement along with documented examples, resume, and/or stakeholder testimonials.

Executive Director’s Award*

Outstanding Volunteer Contributor

This award recognizes outstanding volunteer contributions to the development and support of Career Professionals of Canada by exhibiting such exceptional devotion of time, effort, thought, and action as to set them apart from other contributors. The recipient(s) of this award is/are selected at the discretion of our Executive Director and approved by the judging committee.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has provided a meaningful voluntary contribution to Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has completed or offers ongoing outstanding volunteer efforts through a minimum of 20 hours of dedicated service to the organization within a period of one year.

Outstanding Career Professional

This award recognizes outstanding achievements from a practitioner supporting clients in the Canadian career community. The nominee must be an active CPC member. The nomination can be submitted by a non-member, another CPC member, or the nominee him/herself.

Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission. The person completing the nomination form must submit a 500-word statement outlining the reason for nominating the CPC member along with associated supporting material. Consider including additional supporting documents (maximum 5 pages).  This may include the nominee’s resume, endorsements/testimonials, and/or hyperlinks to websites and other publications supporting the nomination. The 500-word statement and all supporting material should be submitted in one .pdf file.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has work experience supporting clients in career development, employment consulting, or a related area.
  • Has produced a tangible contribution to his or her employer, organization, business, and/or clients.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution in a 500-word statement along with documented examples, resume, and/or stakeholder testimonials.

Outstanding Community Outreach Strategist

This award recognizes outstanding achievements from a practitioner providing community outreach in the Canadian career community. The nominee must be an active CPC member. The nomination can be submitted by a non-member, another CPC member, or the nominee him/herself.

Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission. The person completing the nomination form must submit a 500-word statement outlining the reason for nominating the CPC member along with associated supporting material. Consider including additional supporting documents (maximum 5 pages).  This may include the nominee’s resume, endorsements/testimonials, and/or hyperlinks to websites and other publications supporting the nomination. The 500-word statement and all supporting material should be submitted in one .pdf file.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has work experience in community outreach, job development, resource development, stakeholder engagement or a related area.
  • Has produced a tangible contribution to his or her employer, organization, business, and/or clients.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution in a 500-word statement along with documented examples, resume, and/or stakeholder testimonials.

Outstanding Social Media Strategist

This award recognizes outstanding achievements from a practitioner providing social media support within the Canadian career community. The nominee must be an active CPC member. The nomination can be submitted by a non-member, another CPC member, or the nominee him/herself.

Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission. The person completing the nomination form must submit a 500-word statement outlining the reason for nominating the CPC member along with associated supporting material. Consider including additional supporting documents (maximum 5 pages).  This may include hyperlinks to social media sites, campaign analytics, and/or endorsements/testimonials supporting the nomination. For example, you might include hyperlinks to a LinkedIn Profile, LinkedIn Group, Website, Blog, Twitter Campaign, Facebook Update, and/or Google Drive Working Document. The 500-word statement and all supporting material should be submitted in one .pdf file.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has work experience in social media (i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+), virtual profiles, blogging, online branding, social networking, and/or a related area.
  • Has produced a tangible contribution to his or her employer, organization, business, and/or clients.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution in a 500-word statement along with documented examples, resume, and/or stakeholder testimonials.

Outstanding Employment Interview Strategist

This award recognizes outstanding achievements from a practitioner providing employment interview support within the Canadian career community. The nominee must be an active CPC member. The nomination can be submitted by a non-member, another CPC member, or the nominee him/herself.

Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission. The person completing the nomination form must submit a 500-word statement outlining the reason for nominating the CPC member along with associated supporting material.Consider including additional supporting documents (maximum 5 pages).  This may include a sample of the nominee’s handouts for clients, coaching/consulting process outline, and or testimonials. The 500-word statement and all supporting material should be submitted in one .pdf file.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has work experience in employment interview coaching, employment interview consulting, or a related area.
  • Has produced a tangible contribution to his or her employer, organization, business, and/or clients.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution in a 500-word statement along with documented examples, resume, and/or stakeholder testimonials.

Outstanding Resume – Internationally Educated Professional (IEP)

This award recognizes outstanding resume writing for internationally educated professionals, such that set the writer and/or strategist apart from other contributors. The nomination must be submitted by the nominee him/herself.

The nominee must submit a sample resume along with a 500-word rationalization statement. Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has developed and created resumes for international entrants to the Canadian market that exceed current industry standards.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution through submission of a fictionalized sample document (using their own name in the header).
  • Provides rationalization of the document strategy and mechanics in a 500-word statement.
  • Submissions are evaluated on value proposition, structure, design, spelling, grammar, and effective handling of obstacles.

Outstanding Resume – New Graduate (Entry-Level Professional)

This award recognizes outstanding resume writing for early-career new graduates and entry-level clients, such that set the writer and/or strategist apart from other contributors. The nomination must be submitted by the nominee him/herself.

The nominee must submit a sample resume along with a 500-word rationalization statement. Prepare a complete nomination package for a successful submission.

The recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current PROFESSIONAL member, in good standing, of Career Professionals of Canada.
  • Has developed and created resumes for new graduates or entry-level professionals that exceed current industry standards.
  • Demonstrates his or her contribution through submission of a fictionalized sample document (using their own name in the header).
  • Provides rationalization of the document strategy and mechanics in a 500-word statement.
  • Submissions are evaluated on value proposition, structure, design, spelling, grammar, and effective handling of obstacles.
